As a gay guy, I why how little guys ever get complimented on their looks, dress, figure, etc., especially straight guys. I care for my friends and some of them know they're sexy and really lean into the part. Whenever I see a homosexual dude (IE clearly gay) in some sort of social gathering, he nearly always hits on me and compliments me up and down gay guys compliment. On the flip side, I receive very little attention like that from women - and it's usually women who I don't find attractive at all.

Compliments from a guy are more than just words—they are expressions of admiration, attraction, respect, or appreciation. Deciphering their true meaning requires sensitivity to context, understanding of interpersonal dynamics, and awareness of cultural and personal factors.
I get a lot of compliments from straight women and gay men, and get asked out a lot by lesbians. I'm a fairly outgoing person, so I think I put myself in these situations.
That might be platonic. JH: Why do you think MD is such a major problem in the gay community? I would have never guessed that looking at myself in the mirror, eating right, and working out would be considered a disease. JH: Do you consider yourself to have MD? Unlike most straight kids, no one told you that your elementary school attraction to boys was adorable or found your teenaged crushes charming. Pleasing our friends, partners, colleagues and family ALL of the time can offer us lots of validation, while leaving us exhausted and resentful.
Comments would be scarce. I think this is particularly hard for gay men. So maybe, just maybe, those pressures are internal and not necessarily external. It can affect personal and professional growth and why as a roadblock if you let it consume you. JH: In regard to MD, in your opinion are gay guys compliment specific body parts that are especially of concern for gay people?
I allow gaytherapycenter. If I miss a workout, I think that everything I have worked for is totally gone. Thank you. However, we all can sense when a compliment we give or receive is real.
It can feel like a loss of power. Of course my first thought was whether I could get him to want me over the course of therapy. Life gets easier when we have more confidence. JH: What about parents or partners of gay individuals with MD, any suggestions for them? JH: What are your thoughts or plans regarding how to address MD in your own life at this point?

What Else to Do About It Developing trusting relationships with lovers and friends is another way we can support our healing from a lack of validation.
Search bdd. Yes, the world is full of fake compliments designed to manipulate others. Now I realize it is and there is treatment. D: Pressures of physical appearance, in my opinion, are heightened.
