We are committed to bringing Pride back to its radical roots, highlighting movement leaders such as Marsha P. Johnson, QTIPOC history, and the legacy of protest back to our roots gay pride 2018 of bending to corporate and state interests. These challenges are exacerbated among people of color, women, and young people. We continue their work. Community Pride takes no corporate sponsorship and will not invite the police to any of our events. Pride organizers chose the site because it was greener, more accessible and was a larger venue which was needed to accommodate the growing number of participants. Columbus Community Pride will feature a range of celebrations, performances, and cultural events, culminating in a day-long Community Pride Festival.

There still seems to be a misconception among the white gay community and a few folks of color due to purposeful mis-education and whitewashing of our history about who actually started the Stonewall riots — the very riots that the "Gay rights" movement for the LGBTQIA community is built on.
